My first visit to 101 Gowrie was a delightful culinary journey, showcasing an impressive array of dishes that masterfully combined both seasonal and exotic ingredients. The asparagus tempura was a standout, perfectly encapsulating the essence of its seasonal freshness. Similarly, the introduction of lesser-known ingredients like ume added an intriguing twist to the dining experience, inviting us to explore new flavours. The Turbot Shiokaze & Scallops with XO Dashi was the culinary highlight of the evening, a dish that exemplifies the chef’s prowess in blending flavours and textures to create an unforgettable dining experience. This restaurant is an excellent choice for anyone seeking a relaxed yet sophisticated dining atmosphere, ideal for a high-end dinner that promises to impress. The service was exceptional, with waitstaff who were not only kind but also genuinely enthusiastic about enhancing our dining experience. They provided detailed explanations of the dishes and the wines, enriching the meal with their knowledge and passion. However, there is a slight room for improvement in the pacing of the meal. The dishes were served a bit too swiftly, one after the other, which slightly detracted from the overall experience. Allowing a little more time between courses would enable diners to fully savour each dish and enhance the enjoyment of the meal’s rhythm.
