The view is probably the best thing about 1936 Bar & Grill in North Beach, but unfortunately, the food did not justify the prices. We ordered the wings as a small plate, and they were underwhelming, especially for the price. The “seafood pasta” was $32 and was honestly disappointing—very little flavor and not much to it for that price. Overall, this felt very overpriced for the quality and portions. You’re essentially paying for the location and the view rather than the food. With so many other options around, I wouldn’t return for the food. Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $30–40

Food good. Drinks good. Service sucked. For whatever reason the waitress had constant RBF and we had no idea why even though we politely asked for drinks and food, running up our tab, increasingly drawing up her ability to get more tips with little effort on her part. Nothing complicated or picky, but she made us feel like we were PItA. The worst. Gave her 20%+ regardless. They need to find someone who doesn’t serve on emotions or chips. Still don’t get what her problem was. Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $100+

The very best ONION RINGS around, Thai Brussel sprouts were through the roof in flavor and I experienced their creamy crab soup and a crab cake !! Gotta try em ! You’ll be back for their awesome service and mouthwatering hot meals!! Nothing it awesome all around! Glad I stayed!
