Of the places I have visited in this area, this is the one that seemed the most real to me in terms of what it means to enjoy an experience NOT made for tourists. It is eaten well, with local products and recipes. Everything we ate was spectacular: fritters, croquettes, Russian salad, pan-fried eggs, coquinas (which was called something else here). The friendly and close service from the girl with short hair and the other Argentine girl. In short, it is a place that I would highly recommend to anyone who is in the area and wants to eat well. 8 de Tapes has some of the nicest staff in the area. Only trouble is that they don't open in the winter evenings until 8PM, which is when I usually have to be home! But, the tap beer is spectacular. Antonio, behind the bar, speaks English.
