My friends and I came here for dim sum today. The dining room was quiet. We were the first ones there. The other customers were eating in the makeshift outside dining area next to the parking lot. We enjoyed eating in the clean dining room. The indoor temperature was comfortable. We ordered seven items. I personally liked four of them. The taro, the shao mai, the curried chicken meat pie, and pork wrapped in tofu skin.

I really wanted to like this place. FOOD: didn't seem fresh, like it was stored overnight, in fact I had a stomach ache as soon as I got home. My daughter and husband were fine though. I've tried better dim sum. SERVICE: I caught the waiter blowing his nose several times, yes in a tissue but still he didn't wash hands or use sanitizer after. Ugh - and he handled our dishes. I did like how they served us even though we were there 15 minutes before opening. PARKING: Good/free/available.

Kitchen of Alameda serves good, consistent Cantonese food, with reasonable prices, nice portions and friendly service...I've visited pre-pandemic with co-workers and lunch specials are fresh with good flavors. Celebrating mom's birthday with a socially distance gathering with Chinese takeout in the backyard, mom made sure to create a list of items that included: ::  Braised beef stew with turnip ::  Singapore (thin) rice noodles with curry ::  BBQ chow mein with bean sprouts - many don't add that anymore ::  Black bean spareribs- pork was a little sparse but plenty of bell peppers and onions ::  Steamed pork with salted fish - mom said flavor good but said the texture was ground way too much and preferred how my dad would use 2 cleavers to chop the meat himself... ::  Orange chicken - battered chicken with a sweet and sour type of sauce...to be expected that wouldn't travel well but flavor-wise not overly sweet ::  Order of Roast Pork and Roast Duck - juicy ::  Vegetable- carrots, cabbage and broccoli ::  Mapo tofu - think my sister order that as mom can't take spicy Overall, items were good and would return to order other dishes as they have quite an extensive menu. If you don't see something on the menu, they'll try to accommodate your request :)
