After seeing Central Union Church, it may be a good idea to visit this restaurant. Search through the Hawaiian menu. Try mouthwatering beef ribs, garlic shrimps and red snapper. Nothing can be better than eating perfectly cooked coconut ice cream, chocolate custard and banana pies. Degust delicious chardonnay, martinis or white wine. My first time there and I can't wait to go back!! Everything was so good! And I'm not much of an alcoholic drinker but this guri guri and lava guava drink we're the best!! Couldn't taste the alcohol and it was sweet the way I like it! We had gotten too much food but it's ok because it was worth it!!
I had heard many good things about this restaurant, but was sorely disappointed with my experience here. On the good side, presentation and service were top notch. On the poor side, most of the flavors were a miss for me and my girlfriend. We ordered the Ahi Stack, Da Bag, Whole tomato salad, XO scallops special, and the ginger crusted red snapper. The apps were good, although there was sand lingering in 2/5 of the clams in Da Bag. Both mains were a miss, flavor wise and in cooking technique. The scallops were overcooked and the sauce was too sweet, and my fish was also overcooked and tasted fishier than the snapper should have. The one redeeming course was dessert. "The coconut" both tasted delicious and looked amazing. Overall, would not recommend, find another place to go for a fancy date.
This stop definitely lived up to the hype. We were a party of 6 and shared some apps and we all had the 5 course pre fine meal. Nothing was short of amazing but our favorites were the short rib taco appetizer and the ginger red snapper entree. Service was attentive, the ambiance was great (no view of the beach), and the presentation  was phenomenal. This is one place we were excited to try and I would recommend Alan Wong to anyone visiting honolulu.
