Dined here today for my birthday lunch and it did not disappoint. The service was awesome, so friendly from the minute we walked in. We were a group of 10 plus 3 kids and the food was sensational- highly recommend the bruschetta and focaccia to start just to name a few. For mains the lamb ragu was a huge hit as was the Orecchiette the flavours were just phenomenal. Cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough absolutely fabulous Kid-friendliness: High chairs available no kids menu but the kitchen was happy to accomodate any kid friendly pasta Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: A$40–60 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Bruschetta Paccia, Sagne Al Ragu

Went to Alba Salentinian restaurant last night, as I read some great reviews. The night started off well, with the weather being warm but that’s about all that went well. Very disappointing food. Service was ok and friendly. The starters, zucchini mint balls…dry and tasteless! Bruschetta had no dressing, just tomato diced up and very crispy small pieces of bread! Had to ask for balsamic vinegar, to add some flavour! The pasta we ordered??! Their signature dish?? Yukk! Bland, boring and tasteless’ chickpeas?? Come on?? Fresh pasta was gluggy and the fried pasta in it was not appealing at all! We ordered a “salad” lol, that was funny, as all it was, was a sliced cucumber and a sliced tomato!! No dressing whatsoever!! We actually laughed when we saw it!! Couldn’t wait to leave, to go somewhere else to eat! 1/10!!!

Ciao Marina, Let me begin by saying that I am sad to hear you did not enjoy your dinner with us, and I am obviously sorry to read you feel this way about the food we have served. In regard to the food, we accept and respect your point of view, I apologize if the EGGPLANT balls were dry, we did serve them with a tomato and 'nduja sauce, but evidently it wasn't enough for you, and once again, I apologize if you find them dry. For the bruschetta, we always season the tomatoes with salt, olive oil and garlic, as the original recipe wants, I am sorry if perhaps we did not season it enough in this case. The pasta and the salad you have ordered came exactly as described on the menu, I personally wouldn't be surprised to receive a tomato and cucumber salad if on the menu the item is described as: "Cucumber and tomato salad served with rocket and lemon dressing". Moreover, the pasta you had is a traditional pasta from Salento, the pieces of fried pasta are there to add texture and crunchiness to the dish, and it is with chickpeas as well as guanciale (pork cheek), once again mentioned in the item description. I understand it wasn't ideal for your taste but if you allow me, I disagree with the "Yukk, bland, boring and tasteless" part of it. The waiter that served you did check on you while you were eating, perhaps next time it would be of great help for us if you share your thoughts on the spot so that we could find a way to match your expectations. I really hope you would consider giving us another chance as I personally would love to have you back in our restaurant to perhaps try some other dishes that I am sure would suit more your taste. Please feel free to contact me at info@albarestaurant.com.au or 0452564625 to discuss this further. Ciao Andrea
