A little confused how this restaurant can have mixed reviews. We ate here last weekend and fell in love at the first bite. Our server, Amanda, was so sweet and really fun. We had a great view of the kitchen and loved watching as things were prepared with such care and attentiveness. The tuna tartare was so delicious that I contemplated licking my plate clean! After visiting places with 3 Michelin stars it makes me wonder why Michelin isn't checking this place out to add to the list. Kudos to the chef for a fun and delicious evening, we will certainly be back!
Had a fantastic experience in here with my kids. The food arrived quickly and the service is just great. Prices are reasonable.
Highly rated and esteemed, Alo lives up to expectations. The elegant 11 table dining room is well appointed with an open kitchen and beautiful views atop its Victorian landmark building. The food through a prix fix menu is internationally sourced with rare and extraordinary ingredients each telling a story. The 10 course menu is diverse, bold and exciting as each dish is unique and showcases its unique ingredients with flare. Above all this, the service is amongst the finest in the city. Nearing clockwork precision, all courses are knowledgeably introduced, all drinks are discretely refilled and the servers will respond instantly to make any reasonable request a reality. It nears performance art quality with all pieces working in harmony along with the food and extensive wine list singing loudly. Well deserved to be the preeminent restaurant in the City of Toronto.
