Great Food and reasonably priced. Definately my go to place in Langley!
great service and delicious food!
Both of my reviews are for lunch buffet only, where the spice level is reduce to mild to suit general public. For those who want a rich level of fiery spices you may want to refer to reviews of a la Carter or dinner menus. Update upon 2nd visit of lunch buffet on a weekday Upon 2nd visit the staff service remains top notch. We arrived at opening so the Tandoori chicken is dried and tough, but just before we were about to leave I saw a new batch being refilled and I tested one small piece and it was perfectly smokey on the outside and juicy on the inside. Lessons learnt: go there around noon and not at opening. Today the lamb curry was exceptionally fresh and tender, and the butter chicken, when the new batch was refilled was also excellent. The naan which was mediocre last time, this time was exceptionally. Every batch was fresh and hot. Today paneer korma is replaced with vegetarian korma. The rice pudding with condensed milk is to die for . If you can take it, put the donut ball in syrup into the rice pudding (it's called gula jabun).... I learnt that from you tube and it rounds out the different spices in your tongue after a meal. I also asked for the Chai towards the end of the meal so that I could enjoy every sip while the tea is still hot. Their chai is not drowned with sugar nor syrup and I appreciate the taste of true tea aroma instead of syrup. This is still the best Indian lunch buffet for the value and quality. ............. Quantity versus Quality..... The lunch buffet at An Indian Affair is definitely the highest quality food that we had tried in terms of flavour complexity and depth that is not possible if the food was not done fresh everyday. Hot food station An Indian Affair lunch buffet that we tried offered four meats, all of which were better than the next best Indian buffet we tried in Lower Mainland: - (5/5) Goat Vindaloo , exceptionalities tender cut of meat with luxurious aromatic sauces that had that extra secrete spices that nowhere else offers - (5/5)Butter Chicken is tender and fresh, again, had some extra slices that makes it different from other standard affair - (3/5) Chicken Tandoori was very good when fresh from the kitchen. If you wait, the heat will dry it up. - (4/5) Breaded Fish: the flesh is juicy and fresh, and had a very pleasant citric note inside that adds that extra touch - (5/5) Paneer was fresh, soft like tofu, bathed in rich sauce resembling butter chicken but not quite - (5/5) aloo bonda and onion badgi are pakora-like deep friend cauliflower dumplings. They are crispy outside and moist inside. Dip them in the sauces for cracker and you have yourself a little piece of heaven. The salad bar with rice dessert pudding is my favorite. The three sauces offered are tamarind, mint and yogurt with the mix of the previous two (see photo). The sauce had spices so fresh that it blew my mind! The other Indian restaurants had similar offerings but the spic dips are no where near the flavours here. - (5/5) crackers and 3 sauces (do not miss this!) -(5/5)quinoa salad - (5/5) rice pudding-this one is the best I have had, with rich condensed milk flavour underneath the coconut cream and rich thick softened rice and some unknown tasty bits of white stuff. Service was superb as friendly staff are always around the corner to answer our questions and take away empties plates. Decor is nice and newly furnished. Lightimg is soothing. Booth seatings were plush. If you are someone who care about the quality of spices in the food rather than having more variety of average quality Indian dishes, then this is the one for you. Food taste or innovation (8/10) Food freshness and quality (5/5) Service (5/5) Ambience and cleanliness (5/5) Arefor improvements: naan
