We were pleasantly surprised with Cafe Anchuca. Heard nice things about it, aside from it "being haunted" lol. Last Sunday my husband and I decided to try it for brunch. The brunch menu changes week to week. It was a quaint, clean, friendly environment--can see it being romantic depending on lighting in the evening. Husband had the pot roast and I have the quiche Lorraine and the champagne punch. It was all delicious. We were also pleased with pricing. Included with whichever choice you went with, the price included a salad, a side and dessert!  Would go back:)
I really should have mentioned this one before now but we're so busy traveling. This quaint old home is an historical landmark and b& b but we visited for brunch on Sunday and it was very good. The host is a charming man and fits the part of the old southern host. I say that with affection because I'm probably older. The wife had the pork tenderloin which was outstanding and smoky. Just the right portion of salad and side of roasted potato. I had the shrimp and grits. So I'm a southern boy and honestly the grits were good but a little dry. Maybe I'm new to Shrimp and grits , I'll admit but I like mine less firm than what I'm had. Don't get me wrong, it was delicious, and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. All in all a great stop if you're in Vicksburg and the architecture is always nice to see. We come thru a lot so I will definitely stop here again, the locals seem to enjoy it as well and there are a few colorful characters always enjoying the atmosphere. Enjoy and thank you for showing people how a good restaurant is run. My compliments to the cook who also had a most impressive bread pudding. Yumm
We stayed here and ate here. We had dinner on a Thursday night. Food was excellent. I had the asparagus soup, chicken piccata and bread pudding. My boyfriend had the gumbo, catfish, and trifle. Everything was wonderful. They were very busy with a large party but they kept us updated throughout the meal so it was alright. We had breakfast here too which was pretty good. Rooms are nice and they have a beautiful pool. We enjoyed our stay here. Staff is very, very friendly and welcoming.
