One of my favorite places to eat.
Pumpkin is very nice ask for her and you will definitely be taken good care of
It was my sister's bday, so she got the great pleasure of picking a restaurant for her birthday dinner. She chose: Aqua Grill. We got there around 6:15 pm on a Saturday and it wasn't super busy. We were seated and shown to our booth. The vibe in Aqua Grill is beachy meets upscale (if there is such a thing). Our server was super nice and rattled off the specials. I took a gander at the menu and ordered a lemon drop martini. I was hangry. I literally hadn't eaten anything all day. Which doesn't make for a happy Carla. So me and my better half decided to order an app. We ordered the calamari and my sister and BIL ordered the fried green tomatoes. My lemon drop martini came out and was as pretty as a picture. I took one sip and it was sweet, tart, and didn't taste like alcohol. Note to self, don't drink on an empty stomach. Our calamari came out pretty quickly and they looked perfectly golden. Not a ton of batter, which is a good thing, so you can still taste the calamari. I bit into the calamari and it was delicious. Not chewy, light on the coating, and the remalaude sauce gave it a nice little kick. The fried green tomatoes were fried to perfection, lightly battered, with a cream goat cheese taste in every bite. I was dreading ordering my entree because I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted. After much diliberation I got the ossobuco. I don't eat veal normally because I like baby cows, when I got home that night I was a bit horrified that in all my years of living I didn't know ossobuco was veal (sad face, my bad). Some garlic knot bread like rolls came out prior to dinner. I love bread, so I was excited to taste the bread. This was a disappointment. The bread didn't taste super fresh. It was just ok. My ossobuco came out and it was ginormous. I wanted to love it. Don't get me wrong it was good, a solid four stars, but it wasn't knock your socks off. Each bite was tender and flavorful. The mashed potatoes were creamy and delicious and the root veggies were roasted to perfection. Our server even brought out my sister a piece of key lime pie for dessert. We got our bill, please note Aqua Grill is great for special occasions, because it's on the pricier side. I was expecting a $10 martini, I wasn't expecting a $13 martini. That was a bit surprising. Pros: -Portions are large -Variety on the menu -Make a great martini -Calamari was perfectly cooked -Ambiance was lovely Cons: -$13 martine (wowza) -Bread could use some work Tips: Get the calamari.
