The grilled chicken is well-flavored. The pickled onion complemented the dish. Affordable price and great service. For 170 Mexican pesos we enjoyed one whole chicken with sides of rice, salsa and tortilla. We will definitely come back! Amazing find for cheap eats and delicious chicken. Just a short walk away from the main tourist area on 5th in Playa del Carmen, Asadero el Pollo is a must-see attraction. From the outside it may not look like much, but don't judge a book by its cover. The chicken is wonderfully moist with a great crust of bbq-y goodness on the outside. You can order more chicken and rice than the average person can handle for less that $5 USD and be out in half an hour. One thing to keep in mind is that they don't have air conditioning. The fans they have dotted around help to keep things circulating, but on hot days it can get pretty stuffy inside. They also take to-go orders at the front if you want to eat elsewhere, and the beach is only a short walk away. I will definitely be coming back if I return to Playa del Carmen.
