Enjoy Cow Hollow by default, the guests' piece of advice is to visit this restaurant as well. French cuisine can be tasted here. Signature 5 Course meal outside on the parklet terrace was really lovely! The meal was a shortened version of the past inside dining. It was a much lighter meal but still really nice, my favorites where the Squid Ink Trout mouse and the added caviar supplement with leeks! The overall feel was relaxed and refreshing, the staff was wonderful and used a lot of caution during covid, even did temp checks upon arrival. The weather was perfect for evening dining outside, made for a very enjoyable night!
August Terrasse Dinner   We originally booked and prepaid to experience The Counter at Bar Crenn's 8 course tasting menu $225 each, in April way back Nov 2019 pre COVID-19. Our reservation was moved quite a few times, as the staff was super helpful to accommodate us. When Atelier Crenn posted on Tock they were taking reservations for limited-outside seating on their NEW makeshift Terrasse, we jumped at it.  AND glad that we did! My dinner mate and I were concerned that another Michelin star restaurant was going belly up the way of State Bird Provisions ( sfgate.com/food/article/… ), Nico ( sfchronicle.com/food/art… ), and beloved House ( sfchronicle.com/food/art… ). After working with the lovely, Colleen to book a two top, tonight at 5pm, our credit was applied to the $165.00 special August Terrasse Dinner described as: "A luxurious and unique opportunity to enjoy some of Chef Dominique's most beloved recipes on our new outdoor terrace. - Kir Breton - Caviar & Koji Rice Tart - Crab Tartare - Brioche & Butter - Trout Mousse encased in squid ink bark - Cheese - Dessert by Chef Juan Contreras ( eater.com/ad/16100684/me… )" And this menu did NOT disappoint or leave us hungry ;) wanting to supplement our dinner at the newly opened Shake Shack (hahaha!) AND it was spectacular! At the suggestion of our phenomenal server, Rachel, we upgraded to the Wine Pairing at $95 each (DO THIS!) : "While dining al fresco put yourself in the hands in our talented sommeliers allowing them to share with you their "coup de cœurs" expertly paired with Chef Crenn's terrace menu." We both had such a nice buzz as her pairings were SPOT ON! Including the caviar supplement pairing $20 each. AND added Golden Osetra Caviar $95, which we split the generous portion of Golden Osetra Caviar, potato, fried leek, beurre blanc (GET THIS!) which was mouthwatering and magnificent! We used our brioche to clean out the container as it was THAT GOOD! Needing to sober up a tad for the drive home, we enjoyed a delicious lattes made with Equator coffee, local and served in gorgeous Heath Ceramic cups, served with rock candy sugar, I think Demerara, with the cutest tongs. This "civilized" meal was such a long time coming, and boy, did we need it.  It hit all of our aesthetic spots as visually, every piece of flatware, crystal stemware, bowl, charger, anything that landed on our table was so well thought out with intention, including the poem written by Dominique Crenn to guide us on our dining adventure. This experience was truly spectacular and if you can get there, please do! COVID-19 COMPLIANT:  QR code heath survey required and temperature check. While seated, they prefer you to wear your mask when engaging with staff, if possible. Two 2 tops and three 4 top tables on AstroTurf spaces apart 6'. Bathroom requests are queued up one at a time, and cleaned/sanitized between use. Sidewalk and city noise can be loud, and there's a 6' sturdy wooden fence around the Terrasse.
They're open with outdoor seating! There are only a few tables reservations weren't hard to make at all. The tasting menu is priced at $165 instead of the regular menu priced at $335 I believe so of course I took advantage of this deal. Food - every single course was presented gracefully and each dish was beautifully crafted. There were 8 courses in total (less than their regular tasting menu) which included 2 desserts. The ingredients used in each dish were very high quality (included caviar, crab, freshly picked vegetables, trout, etc.) My favorite dish was the trout 'mousse' with the squid ink bark (I honestly thought this was tofu at first). It was super creamy and went perfectly well with the side broth. Service - very knowledgeable staff and the wine sommelier was patient in recommending us a bottle of wine to pair with our food. This is outdoor dining so it definitely isn't the same experience as dining in their actual dining room. Overall - for a 3 michelin star restaurant, the lowered price point, service and food was extremely worth it in my opinion. Highly recommend (they also have a pick-up version of this which I've heard is just as good if you want to avoid dining out in public).
