Good food made fresh. The owners are extremely friendly. We have only been there a few times, but have not been disappointed.

I've been to some pretty incredible BBQ joints across the country, Arthur Bryant's & Cooter Brown's being 2 of the best. That was the feeling I got walking into Aunt Viv's Homestyle Cooking. We were treated at soon as we walked in and offered a menu. The place was incredibly clean, nice and bright. The TV was a bit loud when we walked in, but the gentleman watching turned it down. The menu is neat and easy to read and understand. Choices are not overwhelming. Obviously they want to concentrate on their quality, rather than quantity. We had: Brisket with 3 sides - baked beans, mac & cheese, potato salad Catfish sandwich French fries 2 sodas & a water Total $34.00 to feed 2 adults and 2 kids with leftovers to take home = not cheap, but reasonable and worth it! Everything was well done and delicious. The standouts though were the brisket (sauce on the side), the catfish & the beans (oh, the beans!). The brisket was perfectly done and tasty on its own, but the homemade sauce was pretty awesome, not overbearing and had a nice "zing" to it. The catfish was also done nicely, was a good size and very flavorful and now the beans! (I'm a little excited about the beans) the beans are slow cooked in a rich base (I'm guessing brown sugar has a role in this) with a lot of ground beef and some brisket added to the pot. It is what I will measure all other beans by. Needless to say, I am now a fan of Aunt Viv's!
