If hungry, come here for good grilled octopus, grilled salads and greek salads. Take your colleagues with you to eat tasty orange cakes, lemon pie and baklava. This is a lovely spot, have been here many times and consistently have a good experience. The lunch pre-fixe menu is great for a meeting with clients or long catch up with a friend in an upscale setting. They bring a cute plate of hummus to start. My go to order is Greek salad (comes with a nice chunk of feta and ripe properly tomatos), bronzino, fruit plate. Their service is top notch. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Lunch

I’ve been going to Avra Rockefeller Center for a few years now. There are other Avra locations around the city, but this one at Rockefeller Center is probably the best one when it comes to the food and the overall experience. I’ve been to the other Avra locations and it just wasn’t the same. This one has a unique environment, a unique team, and the wait staff is very, very good. The service is consistent and professional every time you go. Is it pricey? Yes. But in my opinion, about 85 to 90 percent of restaurants in the restaurant community are overpricing you and the food is not even worth the money. Period. I’ve been to a lot of high end restaurants, high end bars, luxury places, and Michelin star spots. One star, two star, three star. The truth is there are very few places where you can spend anywhere from $100 to $700 and actually feel like it was worth it. One thing I tell a lot of my clients is this. Back in the day you could spend $1 and feel like you got $20 worth of value. Nowadays you spend $20 and sometimes you don’t even feel like you got a penny worth of value. That is the reality with a lot of restaurants today. But this place is different. Avra Rockefeller Center is worth it. That is one thing I can say with confidence. I honestly cannot remember having a bad meal there. Every time the food comes out perfectly prepared. I’ve been coming here for years and it has been consistent every single time. If you go, definitely try the ice cream. It’s excellent. Another thing you will notice is the place is always packed. Always packed. That alone tells you something. People keep coming back because the quality holds up. It’s a great place to go. The inside is beautiful, very elegant, and it feels like a real luxury dining experience. In New York City there are very few places where you truly feel like you got your money’s worth. In my opinion, this is one of those places. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner
