After looking at Grunt Gallery, have a meal at Buns + Boba. Nicely cooked taro is exactly what many guests taste here. The truth is that you will really enjoy good cinnamon rolls, coconut buns and brownies. A lot of visitors order delicious taro bubble tea, latte or milk tea.
The nice staff welcomes visitors all year round. The cool service is a great benefit of this cafe. Average prices are what you will pay for your meal. There is a quiet atmosphere and fine decor at Buns + Boba. But many guests are Facebook users and they rate this place below average.

My husband and I miss this place so much! It was our go to spot when we lived in the neighborhood. We still dream about the matcha and cinnamon buns. I think aside from the awesome food/drinks and decor the thing that makes this cafe truly special are the people. Everyone that works there is super friendly and helpful. When we moved into the area they made us feel so welcomed, to the point it was even our dog's favourite place to visit. I can't wait to go back the next time I'm in town.

Buns and Boba has been a cafe located in the Mount Pleasant area that I’ve been wanting to visit ever since it opened! I know it’s been well over a year since then but I was still so excited to finally be able to try it out!. Once you walk into the cafe, you notice the giant moss wall and menu board right away. I love how simple the design of the cafe is. They had small cafe tables as well as a communal table to share between guests. We’d come again just for the vibes. Anyway, while they have a giant menu board of items they offer, they also have a smaller menu at the counter with their bubble tea offerings. We thought it was a bit strange they didn’t just put it all together but maybe they just didn’t have enough space on the board.

Came into Buns +Boba thinking it would be mainly a bubble tea shop but the layout and menu is created like a normal coffee shop cafe- ie coffee was on their main menu board. The interiors are aesthetically pleasing - lots of areas to study or work on things. Came into the store at around 3PM on a Saturday. The baristas were friendly and super informative. To note for bubble tea orders: 1) +$0.50 for toppings like tapioca pearls, grass jelly, etc. which is normal 2) +$0.75 for special milk - Buns + Boba make cashew milk in house - whole milk is no charge. 3) choose 4 different sugar levels and can ask for ice options as well! Ordered the black sesame milk tea to go. The tea was well made - strong tea flavor! Tapioca pearls were chewy and tasted like normal bbt pearls. The only downside to this drink is that though it is a black sesame milk tea, the black sesame flavor was added via black sesame seeds only. So I think it's not worth it to try their black sesame milk tea flavor. I would probably try their buns next time and maybe not the bubble tea.
