How pretty is this company, ordered a slice of pizza then asked for ketchup, was told it was 15p and to pay at the till, couldn't buy it because I didnt have any cash and the minimum on card was £5. I asked for a gesture of good will and they refused. Worst customer service. Firstly charging for ketchup is pathetic and cheap. Then not allowing me to buy on card just shows how pretty they are. Will not return.

Spoke to the manager about the filthy state of the tables.  Apparently the owner believes that because the tables are provided for free, customers eat there at their own risk and that he has no obligation to keep them clean or hygienic. Its hard to imagine a more clueless or unprofessional response to a complaint.

Ask a German living outside of Germany what they miss the most about home and I guarantee you that they will almost always mention the bread. I do not have such strong ties to German bread, but my time in Berlin has taught me how to appreciate a good pretzel (with butter if necessary, not mustard, you heathen!). Bäkehaus isn't quite as gemütlich (or cozy) as your favorite neighborhood bakery in Germany since it's all self-service, but it gets the job done. The pretzels were soft and chewy and surprisingly enough, reasonably priced! Bäkehaus also offers loaves of rye bread and a plethora of sandwiches with a German twist (I spotted a pork schnitzel sandwich with cranberry sauce on ciabatta for £3.99!), so why not grab something here for lunch instead of opting for a pricey sandwich from Pret or a sad sandwich from Tesco? It's located on the high street just minutes away from the Tube station, so you really don't have an excuse.
