This rating is for their clam chowder. If it's not her best I've ever had, it's way up there. Lots of clams, a great amount of potatoes (not too many, not too few), and really creamy and buttery. Absolutely delicious. This is by no means aon any diet, anywhere, so be warned. It ain't cheap, but it is really, really good...
We try and come to Cape Cod every year and when we do, Baxter's Boathouse is always in our list of go to Places. It's sits on Lewis Bay in Hyannis. There are tables outside that you can watch the ferries to Nantucket and Marthas Vineyard go by. The view is fantastic. I always get the same, fried clams as they are the best on the Cape. You can order many seafood dishes, fried, baked or broiled. Soups, chowders, salads and sandwiches. All good. Delicious drinks, beer and wines . This place is a hot spot so come early. No reservations are taken. I've heard the Kennedys have been known to pop in on occasion.
Good food. Great location. Mind blown that so many dishes are served in to go style plastic containers. Understand they can't have a septic/wash dishes due to location, but the amount of landfill space this one restaurant is taking up with it's plastic(as oppose to some recycled paper option) is irresponsible and verging on disgusting. There are many disposable, compostable, environmentally responsible options. Get with it.
