Review from Nov, 2019. I walked in without a reservation and they said the kitchen would be closing because it was a slow night. The host made a big deal of the burden it would be to stay open for just one guest. He said wouldn't be able to accommodate me with regrets. As I was walking out, a party of two walked in, with reservations! I can only assume they were racist because I'm Asian, or a solo female traveler, or both. What a terrible experience to have in Bruges. Oh, and the final coup de grace was that the host said rather pathetically, "You can stay if you want," as he saw that the party with the reservation walked in the door. I said no thank you! The food might be ok in this establishment, but the people and their treatment of potential guests really disgusted me. Do not come to this restaurant, otherwise you'd be supporting a place that treats people with disrespect and bigotry.
Nice little restaurant with pigeon on the menu as well. Food was good but pricey!
Belgian Pigeon House is one of the most cozy shelter for tourists like us. Its location is just right at the conner nearby the Choco Story Museum of Bruges. I discovered a great hospitality and a very fine cappuccino there. They also served a unique craft beer “Viven” which gave us a true sense of Belgian breweries. The price is reasonable and the heedfulness of staffs is a pride. The most impressive things are the atmosphere and the decoration of this place which inspired by the story of pigeon racing. It was too bad that we missed a chance to try their smoky-scented rib eye steak since the house was fully reserved for dinner at that night. If I had a chance I would definitely go back there again.
