Once the promenade around the Berkeley Fire Trails is over, visit Belmo Café. This cafe is recommended to French and Algerian cuisine lovers. Tasty pies and nicely cooked sandwiches will impress you at the first bite. Trying good almond croissants, baklava and fruitcake is what many clients recommend. Drink the great chai latte, espresso or tea served here.
You are to be pleasantly impressed with reasonable prices at Belmo Café. The lovely decor and nice atmosphere let visitors feel relaxed here. As for the Google rating, this place earned 4.8.

If not for Yelp I might have missed out on the Gourmet Ghetto of Middle Eastern treats and coffee in West Berkeley, on University Avenue. The French-Algerian inspired Belmo Cafe and nearby neighbor, Heyma Yemeni Coffee are literally the one two punch of cafe deliciousness. After grabbing a dynamite spice and cardamon infused latte at Heyma, we wandered into Belmo and saw a gorgeous assortment of French pastries, but what really got us drooling was their beautiful section of enormous and exquisite Turkish delight, of which we tried a strawberry pistachio, a hazelnut and a chocolate filled variety, each more delicious than the last. These are special, fresh and homemade. A bevy of French and Algerian pastries are sold here, and trust me the Turkish delight is particularly wonderful.
