This was an incredible experience! I had never had this type of meal before (different courses without choosing from a menu) and it was amazing. The service was incredible and it was so cool having different foods throughout the meal. I do think this is a one time experience, but I am so glad I was able to have this experience.

UPDATED REVIEW: This 5-star review is really for a 5-star restaurant. Benazuza has been voted the 5th best restaurant in the world, and deservedly so. It has also been voted the best restaurant in Cancun, and I agree. The Executive Chef, Rafael Zafra, worked with Ferran Adrià (from El Bulli) and is a star in his own right: he had 2 Michelin stars. The cuisine is best described as molecular gastronomy with Mexican flavors. Dinner consisted of a 20-course tasting menu with an optional wine pairing. Each course, from the incredibly creative drinks to the desserts was amazing. The description from the menu does not give you a hint at what you will receive on your plate. Photos of the food alone do not give you an idea of what each bite-sized morsel will taste like. This dinner is truly an experience. We dined here last year and could not wait to come back to Cancun as an excuse to have this experience again. The service and décor are impeccable as well. I won’t name our servers because I want to praise all the staff, from the hostess, to the bartender, the waiters and Chef and kitchen staff. Bravo!ORIGINAL REVIEW: The best fine dining you will find in Cancun…period.Tripadvisor named Benazuza the 4th best restaurant in the world in 2019.They serve a 22-course tasting menu that is fantastic. You can select to have a wine pairing with your meal, which is what I recommend. The food is molecular gastronomy à la Ferran Adrià. Each course is different, with many vegetarian dishes interspersed, but you’ll be eating other meats & fish as well. The service is professional and polite and the décor is tasteful, despite the fact that to enter the restaurant, you must pass through the hotel’s casino which was weird. They ask you before dinner if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies, which is very cool.Another complaint is how difficult it is to make a reservation. The hotel’s switchboard did not connect me to the restaurant even after many tries. The concierge in my hotel (which is part of the same hotel group) was unable to make reservations for us. I only succeeded in making reservations after speaking with my hotel’s manager who made the reservations on our last night in Cancun. The restaurant, surprisingly, was not full, but this is probably because of the difficulty in contacting them.
