In case the rain took you by surprise during the promenade around Olympia Milk Bar, stop by this cafe. Many people visit Birdy Cafe to try nicely cooked sandwiches. Great espresso will make your meal better and you'll surely come back.

Stay away, this guy picked a fight with me.I stopped going here a while ago after he got my coffee wrong for a second time. A long black is far from a flat white. All good, no dramas. There’s a nice place down the road called Cocoa and Coffee and another one called Clare’s.But I was in town on the weekend and my wife was dropping me off in the area so I thought I’d grab one. We accidentally parked in a friend of his as I was telling my wife and 4 year old to have a good day when he SCREAMED at me to move the car and abused me from across the road. Couldn’t reason with him he continued to abuse me even after I explained it was a simple mistake. All on a Saturday morning in front of my child.Get some help buddy or get out of town. You’re lucky I meditate!!!

After driving past for ages I finally stopped. All that wasted time! I'm now a regular who tells everybody who'll listen about the best coffee in the area! A slice of Melbourne in the Inner West, superb coffee (and special milk!), friendly staff, tasty food, and social footpath atmosphere where locals mingle. Danny and his coffee are gems!

For those seeking top-notch quality, Birdy Espresso is THE place. Though a little more expensive than nearby alternatives, as the saying goes; 'you get what you pay for.’ Personally, I have no issues paying a little extra for unprocessed ingredients. I've visited every cafe in Stanmore/Leichhardt/Petersham and find myself at Birdy 3-4 times a week. Well done Danny & crew.
