First time here and I’d give it an ‘almost, but not quite’. The menu is certainly inventive with a heavy emphasis on seafood and a modern British interpretation of tapas. The place was pretty quiet for 8pm on a Thursday but the staff were friendly and welcoming.Decor is good and they’ve clearly not scrimped on the F&F.Good list of aperitifs and cocktails although they had run out of champagne. Quite a few wines unavailable from the wine list which was a shame as it’s a good list. Hopefully just a temporary supply issue and we were happy with what was actually available.Food-wise we opted for tapas with the waiter recommending picking two dishes per head plus a couple of sides for the table. We had:Lobster & prawn gyoza - goodBream ceviche - served a bit too cold so lacking in flavourMonkfish cheeks (deep fried) - goodThai fish curry - aromatic but no spice! Goats cheese croquettes - great! We ordered a second helping.Burrata and heritage tomato salad - satisfactory Pardon peppers - teeny tiny but lots of themTruffle new potatoes - undercooked but replaced upon complaint. Replacements were better.Overall I like the place and the people, I think a few tweaks to the food and rectifying the wine supply problems and the place could become a firm favourite. I’m not one to add salt to my food normally but in a couple of instances some additional seasoning would have helped.

We popped in and had a lovely brunch at Black Bream a couple of weeks ago! The food was great (can highly recommend the burger) and the Bloody Mary was one of the best I've had. Simon made sure we were well looked after even during busy times. We'll definitely be going again!
