Their prix fixe menu was great & affordable. Service was also amazing and the interior was modern yet still homey at the same time. Loved it!
We came for an anniversary dinner. Made reservations and found street parking without much difficulty. The venue isn't very big they did have both indoor and outdoor seating. The staff is very friendly and professional. We tried the tasting menu which consisted of about 12 dishes, two to three bites of every dish. Surprising though you do get pretty stuffed at the end of the dinner. I would say the tasting menu is an experience. With each dish they explain what's in it and it's a flavor explosion. We chose to do it with our the drink pairing, however during dessert out waitress brought us the dessert wine (absolutely fantastic) and and extra dessert. Blackbird is pricey but you are paying for the exquisite flavorful food and the experience.
We came here for lunch and received outstanding service. They were very professional, and didn't let an empty plate air at your table for more than ten seconds. We arrived right when they opened at were the the only ones dining until about 1130 when a few other party's arrived and quickly filled up the dining area. They started us off with Publican Quality sourdough and butter. The bread was warm, soft and tasted fresh and served with butter. My wife ordered their burger which was perfectly cooked medium. It came with cheddar, caramelized onion mayo and a side of pomme frites. The burger was delicious, but it did get a bit messy with the the mayo dripping all over the place. I went with their lunch prix fixe menu. I started with their chilled corn soup. It came with pickled peach, black lime and cultured cream. My main entree was their skate wing. It was a perfectly fried piece of fish topped with mustard greens kimchi and coconut. The skate wing was very tender and flavorful. I probably wouldn't order it again though. My favorite part of my meal was surprisingly their dessert. We went with their banana pudding. It had chai, butterscotch, coconut and sherbet. It had all the textures and flavors to make a perfect dessert. Very sweet mixed with some bitterness and creaminess with some crunchiness. A perfectly executed dessert. Might come back for just that. I can't wait to come back for dinner!
