Vanilla glazed. Just get it. Oh em gee: haven't had a donut that fresh or delicious since the 24hr Krispy Kreme at the Prudential, which made fresh donuts right before your eyes, inexplicably and tragically closed up shop. I did try Blackbird's cherry cobbler donut as well and didn't find it as delicious as the simple vanilla glazed. No need for bells and whistles when the fundamentals are that heavenly. Will be back!!!!
DECAF NITRO COLD BREW DECAF NITRO COLD BREW DECAF NITRO COLD BREW you guys I cannot possibly express how exciting this is I mean nowhere literally nowhere else have I found this and it's delicious and now I am finally complete ...oh and the donuts are good, too. super dense, but tasty.
I came here with the intention of getting the pumpkin Boston cream and the everything bagel doughnuts, but ended up walking away with cinnamon roll and salted toffee doughnuts. I guess 2 pm was too late for me to get my hands on some of their more popular flavors. The cinnamon roll doughnut and salted toffee doughnut were $3 each.  Pretty pricey but somehow still cheaper than other artisanal doughnut shops in the Boston area. The cinnamon roll doughnut bore very little resemblance to an actual cinnamon roll - it's a vanilla cake doughnut with buttercream frosting and dusted with cinnamon sugar.  Although I usually like cake doughnuts, this one didn't have any flavor, other than being cloyingly sweet.  The salted toffee doughnut is a brioche yeast doughnut with brown butter glaze and flakes of sea salt.  I enjoyed the fluffy dough, but the glaze seemed a little off to me.  It had almost no sea salt flavor and a weird aftertaste.   Overall, I think Blackbird doughnuts are pretty average, especially considering their price tag.  I'd rather make the trip to Union Square Donuts and pay an extra $0.50 for quality doughnuts.  I do really wanna try that pumpkin Boston cream though...
