Stop in for the excellent food, stay for the authentic Spanish bar experience. You receive tapas free with your drink- which can be anything from tortilla española, to an offel stew of tripe and liver, to even a plate of fresh shrimp. Many tapas change every day based on what is available. After you earn a spot at the bar, you sit among the regulars- old men who've been coming here to eat every night for years. They argue and laugh with the four very professional bartenders in Spanish about the soccer game on tv, or anything else. In this cheery atmosphere at around 11:00 pm, families come out to eat dinner, and soon enough small children are seen darting about the tiled floors sipping Fanta Naranja and scarfing other nibbles. Above everyone there hang large fatty legs of jamón, only adding to the cozy and comfortable feel of Bodegas La Mancha. Our personal favorite plates include their homemade croquettes, and bocadillos (sandwiches). The prices are very cheap as well. I also recommend that you have a basic knowledge of Spanish, if you want to talk to the bartenders and ask for more food. If not, they have an English menu as well!
