The reason for two stars. Ordered the beef flaming spicy however when taking a bite of the meat, it tasted very gamy. I asked one of the wait staff what kind of meat and she said beef. Either their beef is spoiled or they gave me the wrong kind of meat. Because of the meat tasting gamy the vegetables also tasted gamy. The worst part is two hours later I have a horrible stomachache now. Two star because the wait staff is pretty attentive and that the order comes with ice tea.
Food is delicious. I had the Taiwanese spicy beef. It only comes in super spicy level. Flavor was wonderful until you get to the end when the soup got boiled down. It was almost unbearable. They now offer more items since the last time such as boba drinks and few appetizers. At least the waiting is shorter these days. Recommend it.
I tried Boiling Point in Seattle before. I had a better experience eating there compared to this one in San Mateo. I came here at around 12:30 pm on a Sunday. There was no line surprisingly. I think the price is reasonable. A order of a pot came with free drink and rice. I ordered a spicy beef pot in medium hot. It is way spicier than expected. The broth is oily and doesn't have much flavor. I also feel like half of the food in my pot is cabbage. I probably won't come back again. Even though it's a bit cheaper than regular hot pot, you got way less food choice.
