The food was passable but the experience was certainly sub-par, especially considering the price. For two Michelin stars, the price was correct, but the food and service don't match what you'd expect from a restaurant so well-rated. Some specific notes, in no particular order:- the restaurant was insistent our group was too big for one table, yet placed our two tables far from each other. We had to have them fix this on the spot.- staff convinced our group to take a different menu, although they were not transparent on the pricing. This doubled our bill unexpectedly.- the restroom was not clean. Soap was perfumed. The built-in soap dispenser didn't work, so a separate, store-bought dispenser was on the counter by the sink next to the built-in one.- our group was multilingual, yet this seemed to be difficult for the staff to handle. We understand that many in Brussels speak French, and we also understand that Dutch is less common. However, a restaurant if this caliber could reasonably be expected to have staff speak English, and if not that the could at least be consistent. As it was, one if the servers persisted in French, another in broken English, and a third kept repeating everything first in French then in Dutch. This was more tiresome than we'd expect at this quality of restaurant.- fish was overcooked- dessert was mediocre. Individual flavor elements of it were okay, but taken together in one bite were memorable only for the lack of cohesive palate.- bread was good, so was hazelnut butter. Unfortunately we had to ask for a more neutral "normal" butter, since the hazelnut flavor was quite overpowering, risking spoiling the food in the actual courses.- 60-some euros for bottled water (Bru) seems a bit extravagant
This restaurant is a concert for people that appreciate top quality food, the taste and the way it is done. Each dish is a surprise of balanced flavours done at a perfection level. It is a pleasure to see the way the kitchen is working and the top service of the people there. One thing you need to remember, that for all this wonderful experience you need to pay 200 euro p.p when you go in the evening. But for me it was worth every euro.
Awesome restaurant. Fully deserves it's Michelin star status. Very desreectly located. The tasting menu was one hell of an experience. The service was truly excellent only matched by the food. The sommelier wasn't condescending at all and helped us pick a really good wine. The cheese trolley is exceptional. A great restaurant.
