This little Evora gem was such a fantastic find! Go early - there are only 8 seats at the bar; we got there about 7:30pm and managed to get the last 2 places. It is an intimate culinary experience. Domingos does all the serving (and food & wine recommendations) and his wife can be seen busy cooking the fabulous meals in the kitchen. By the end of the night, you will feel like you are best friends with the proprietor and all the other 6 patrons at the bar. Wonderful dinner, wonderful night....
Fantastic meal experience! Great host, great chef, and great food.
Well-executed classic Portuguese dishes in an intimate ambiance with jovial hosts. We enjoyed the fried sardines with pickled onion appetizer, tender black pork steak, and the bacalhau a bras (codfish with eggs). We paid 50 euro for two, including one appetizer, two mains, and two glasses of wine. Note that portions are huge and most guests struggled to finish their plates toward the end—keep this in mind while ordering! In short, a solid choice in Évora and recommended.
