Superb. I had the Bacalao. Perfect level of saltiness. Did not feel touristy at all.
Great food here with typical Norwegian dishes. I had a fish soup as a starter, similar to a cullen skink dish from Aberdeenshire. Also the reindeer steak was really good. The service was really good as well.
We are in Bergen overnight prior to doing a cruise up north. We walk past this place earlier on and came back for dinner. It is over 100yrs old and still ownedcby same family. Naturally it has undergone changes, but the old features remain. The food was suberb and very local. Do get there early and ask the staff whats in season and what the locals eat. Its not cheap but nothing in Norway is! Why get burger and fries when for a lttle more you get REAL food sourced localy in a heritagr listed place. She had a kilo of local mussesl in white wine sauce and I had slow roasted beef cheeks followed up by a local desert 'veiled lady' a delicious apple compote.
