On the menu, you can select perfectly cooked bison meat, pork ribs and prime rib roast. Come to this bar for a break and order good cheesecakes, apple pie and vanilla ice cream. It's nice to taste delicious cordial, bourbon or draft beer. Apple juice that you will try is great.

Historical building with great service and tasty food. The decor is beautiful. Beautiful staircase to 2nd floor (no elevator). The ribs are a huge portion size and wonderful tasting. The Barbeque sauce used tastes sooo good. Get ready for a big surprise-- alcoholic beverages were $18 a piece. The homemade ice cream was awesome. What an opportunity to see a historical fun place! Kid-friendliness: Not really a children's place due to alcohol and getting around in the building. I visited 4 years ago and came back with my mom. We tried rocky mountain oysters! And has the combo dinner of Elk and Buffalo. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $50–100

First time back to Denver in 25 years. I went to the Buckhorn Exchange my first visit all those years ago, and couldn't wait to go back to the restaurant - the food, service, and atmosphere were that good. Sadly, while the service was outstanding and the atomsophere had not changed (that's a good thing), our food was very much a disappointment - especially at current prices. My brother had the NY strip, and said that it was "just OK". I ordered elk, one of my most favorite meats. The portion was generous, but there was so much salt on the meat that it was inedible. Even with the berry sauce the salt continues to overpower the meat. I left nearly all of it untouched. When I asked about this, I was told that in this social media age there were too many people complaining that their meats weren't seasoned (I think these people were tourists whose usual idea of steak is eating at Ruby Tuesdays, and not understanding that at fine steak houses most let the customers add salt and pepper themselves to suit their tastes). I am fine with them responding by seasoning their meat, but in my case it went beyond mere seasoning given all of the salt - and BTW I like salt in my meat, but this was too much. I encourage you to go and eat there, it's a really cool and unique restaurant with excellent service. If you do go I recommend that you ask for no or light salt/seasoning on your meat, you can always add more yourself if necessary. And don't forget to try the Dutch apple pie - it's amazing!
