If any of you are old enough to remember Muhammad Ali toward the end of his career, you remember watching a former great get pummeled again and again by boxers who would have had no business even stepping in the ring with him a decade prior. That's what Burger 21 has become. Old. Tired. Sloppy. Well past its prime. We used to eat here on a regular basis but then we had two bad experiences in a row late last year. The service was slow, the employees were disinterested, and our orders were wrong. I swore it off as a lost cause. Then my daughter had a birthday this week. She remembers all the good meals we had here back in Burger 21's Joe Frazier days. She says she heard they're under new management and we should give them a second chance. Burger 21 is where she wants to go with her friends and who am I to say no to my only daughter's birthday wish? We go. And we sit. It took 40 minutes to grill a half dozen burgers and serve them. You're done Burger 21. Give it up. You're heading toward the same fate as your former location on Old Milton and your former competition of Cheeseburger Bobby's up the road. The bell is rung. The count has reached 10. It's lights out. Time to throw in the towel and go home.
