The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly and efficient. The food was hot and fresh. I got the beef ramen and it was delicious. We sat outside and although the restaurant was a little crowded we didn't feel like we were sitting on top of each other. I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family.

Restaurant: CRANE RAMEN Jacksonville Rate: 3/10 Review: I have had ramen in globally acclaimed ramen shops such as David Chang's momofuku, kizuki ramen & izakaya chain, and ramen shops in the Tokyo airport during layovers. With that being said, I have a clear understanding of what good ramen tastes like: flavorful, rich, and a fatty broth. All of which Crane Ramen lacked. I do not know how to come off saying this without sounding like an asshole. But, it has to be said: the broth was watered down - it was as flavorful as instant ramen. Usually, authentic ramen covers your whole pallet after each taste of the broth - crane's broth left no flavor but a mediocre taste in your mouth. I want to give this place a good review but at the end of the day it is a ramen shop that has disappointing ramen. Most successful ramen shops have a chef in the kitchen that has apprenticed under a respected ramen shop. I feel like the chef behind crane ramen has not apprenticed under any respectable ramen shop if the broth came out tasting like that. I will give Crane ramen positive points on their appetizers: the pork burns were very good and the karage was wonderful. Upon bringing out my pork buns, I asked the waiter for hoisin sauce, the waiter told me "what is hoisin sauce." Goes to show just how authentic this place is, NOT. The best Ramen in Jacksonville is and still has been, Hangar Bay Cafe in Mayport. The owner of that ramen shop has actually LIVED in Japan and knows what REAL ramen tastes like. Crane is not even a competition to Hangar Bay or any ramen shop in general. This place is to ramen in which Panda Express is to Chinese food. This ramen will only succeed with people who have not had ramen other than instant ramen. - Ansel Ponce Diama
