After a long walk around Igreja Matriz de Sao Sebastiao, go to this bar and have a rest here. The menu of Portuguese cuisine under the direction of the great chef is wonderful here. Most guests recommend trying nicely cooked sandwiches, pork and hamburgers. The chef at Café Royal cooks good queijada. Beer lovers will find it delicious. You may come across notes that espresso is great here.

Be careful eating here .... Food was average, after eating I asked for my bill. Waiter said come inside, so I did. They charged me 25 euros which I knew was wrong. So I paid and cashier said Thank you and did not offer a receipt. I demanded a receipt. The receipt was only 15.69 Euros. Bottom line it wasn't a mistake they tried to steal from me. I only spoke English with my 2 guests at dinner so for sure they thought I was a tourist. What they didn't know is I live here part time and am fluent in Portuguese otherwise I don't believe they would have tried such a stupid move. There are many better options in PDL I won't be back to Cafe Royal ever again.
