3rd wave coffee, which supposedly democratized quality coffee (at $22 for 250g anyway), has left fans of traditional Italian espresso orphaned to say the least due to its obsession with Arabica and its disdain for the robusta. Until now I had to be content with Lavazza products whose beans are very often of poor quality even if we are lucky enough to find recently roasted ones. Many thanks to Café Vito for offering us a delicious traditional blend. I was a little skeptical about the freshness of the beans since they are imported from Italy, but I was very pleasantly surprised. No problem with channeling and therefore projections, the bean grinds a little finer than the average recently roasted coffee and gives a fairly thick espresso with lots of crema (thanks to the robusta). I don't hate 3rd wave coffee, quite the contrary, but I am very happy to be able to make this almost disappearing classic at home. Grazie mille Vito!
