After seeing Upper East Side, it may be a good idea to visit this restaurant. Vegetarian food is nice here. Degust mouthwatering spinach ravioli, avocado salads and mushroom crepes at Candle 79. If hungry, come here for good pancakes, brownies and rhubarb pie. You will hardly forget delicious beer, malbec or Sangria that you can enjoy. It's time to degustate great fresh juices, espresso or smoothies.

This place is recommended for the efficient staff. Here you will pay attractive prices. There is an enjoyable atmosphere and fancy decor at this spot. The rating of this restaurant on Zomato is 4.1.

Flavors are very reach and satisfying. Nice presentation of food. Have never been disappointed! The atmosphere is pleasant and staff is friendly.
The food was generally very good for a vegetarian like myself. I had the special (the chipotle seitan with mole sauce) as well as the onion rings with aioli. For an appetizer, I had the Island Energizer (a passionfruit-pineapple smoothie) and for dessert, the sorbet sampler, which included cherry, passionfruit, and raspberry.  All of these were delicious, but priced probably 50% higher than one would expect for a similar item.  My wife, for example, had a tasty but not particularly large breadcrumb-crusted cauliflower appetizer for $17.  Relatively simple desserts like a strawberry cobbler were in the $15-20 range. As for the service, when I made my reservation for 5:30 pm on the phone, I was told that I needed to vacate the table by 7:00 because another reservation was in place. Not a big deal -- I wasn't planning to stay more than an hour and a half anyway -- though to be honest it's the first time I've been given a reservation at a fine restaurant with an "expiration date" LOL.  Then, when I was there, even though there were several empty tables in my section of the restaurant, a waitress kept coming around periodically with a note pad, very visibly checking on and writing down how close people were to finishing.  This person was NOT my actual waitress and didn't interact with the patrons at all, so it was very clear that this was her sole purpose.
I have been wanting to try this place for years but never got around to it. Candle 79 blew me away and exceeded my expectations. The hostess, busboy, and our server Heidi were right on beat every second and the service was top notch. I ordered the seitan piccata and my wife requested the mushroom crepe. Both were delicious! This place deserves 6 stars!! Honorable mention the pomegranate bbq seitan skewers might be the best thing I ever tried! A must try for vegans who appreciate fine dining!
