I dont write may reviews but had to write one here. Martina our server was very kind and helpful. She recommended the salmon salad for me as i needed another option other than pizza or pasta. It was AMAZING!! My family had pizza and tjey poved it. The Tiramisu we ordered was shared and we fought for the last spoins as it was delectable!!! We arrived early for lunch at 12pm and walked in but therr will be a long line anytime of the day.
Cantina e Cucina is good & popular. We came for lunch, but ate like it was dinner starting with a bottle of house Cantina e Cucina Chianti. The 16€ bottle from Trambusti Gonfalone of Chianti DOCG wrapped in blanched-straw delivered a smooth red table wine that made up for for it's simplicity and 12.5% abv by being real Italian chianti. A huge Tagliatelle il Genuino was a beautiful tasting plate of Ham, Salami, Cheese, and Walnuts intended to be shared ... and was with smiles. This could easily of left us both satisfied as a mid-day meal. Of course, we weren't done. A gorgeous Pizza Diavola with Tomato, Mozzarella, and Spicy Salami (plus a solitary green olive) was satisfying though not stellar Italian pizza. We pigged out on the slices while reminiscing about the plate of prosciutto and cheeses we just finished. Less memorable although equally attractive was Saltimbocca alla Romana (Escalope Veal with Parma Ham & Sage) served with a simple Salad and side of grilled Zucchini. Cantina e Cucina succeeds in the capital city of Italy by catering to tourists from around the world who check Yelp or other websites looking for Italian food in Rome that is good & popular.
Cosy place with nice welcoming and professional staff, really tasty food and reasonable price. Strongly recommended specially for late lunch
