Play area is excellent, especially for younger kids as it's just the right size. Avoid the cafe apart from cakes. Portions are small, ours took 45 minutes to come and the sausages and chips were burnt. They kids were were so hungry at this point we just mashed it up and they ate it. Very disappointed. If we had more time and not hungry kids we would have sent it all back.Bring your own snap is my advice

Went to carvery yesterday, overall good, except for the roast potatoes, they were rubbery. The outside area was in an awful state , the whole area needed A good clean, tables not cleared and then not cleaned, bird droppings on them. The cleanliness had really improved with covid but it didn't take long for standards to slip again.

as a local to Carr gate garden centre, I have visited a lot over the years,and noticed the decline, then in March it changed hands,and suddenly my it had a whole new face lift,it sells plants ,hundreds of them,and a lot cheaper than before,also they are alive,not like some of the plants in the past.the staff are now very friendly and open to suggestions of how to cheer the village up,the cafe is pleasant,and,the new scones are a delight.I hope the garden centre continues in this way .
