At 4:30pm on Sunday at Castle cafe in Castle Rock, I went to eat with my mom and my two boys 2 years old and 11month old. Sitting there eating, something scared my youngest and he screamed and cried for about 10-15 seconds like babies do. Shortly after, my mom and I were talking and a man comes over to the table and says “if your child continues to cry, you’re going to need to take him outside or something, he’s bothering other customers.” Remind you it was in the 30’s outside. He had cried one time the entire time we were there! He’s a baby! He’s also developmentally delayed. Come to find out the man was the OWNER of the restaurant. I was appalled. I was visibly upset over the situation and we didn’t even get to eat our meal because the man asked us to leave for telling him how we felt. We paid the bill, not eating and left per his request. I’ve never in my life had someone be so disrespectful over an innocent child. I am a military spouse and new to the area, having a very tough month without my husband with us and if this guy only knew how much we’ve been thru. Just putting this out there so that other people don’t end up in the same situation we were in.
