Charlie's is a great upscale spot with beautiful views, and a great menu. In terms of atmosphere, there's nothing better in the area.

The only reason I did not give 5 stars for service was it was a bit slow but to be fair it was Easter Sunday. Food was not overly salted for my taste which is a rarity for me. Love the atmosphere and our meals were quite good. We ordered the pistachio mint lamb chops which was a generous portion of 6 chops. The roasted chicken, one of my favorites, was perfectly cooked. Can't wait to go back. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5

My partner and I had our micro wedding at Charlies of Bay Head in their wine room. We had originally worked with Victoria back during preliminary planning and while setting up the date. We were presented with wonderful options and were excited about the wedding. As the weeks became closer, we started to reach out to the Victoria and had not been responded to for some time. It was only after about two weeks that I called into the restaurant and requested to speak with someone regarding our upcoming event. We were contacted days later by Jennifer, the Director of Events, and I was some what disappointed by the approach and lack of awareness of our event. Despite Victoria no longer working at Charlies, there was no communication to ensure we understood who to reach out to and at no point was there an apology given around the confusion. As final preparations and choices started being discussed, it felt as if the policies and procedures of Charlies were being pulled out of thin air. The communication from Jennifer was lacking and really put a stressor on our planning leading up to our big day. Where other vendors excelled in this area and helped to make planning a breeze, Charlies failed. My assumptions is Charlies is not prepared to handle such custom events that require a bit more attention, such as a wedding. On our big day, this is where the staff at Charlies excelled. We were quickly reminded why we signed to be here, based on the setting, food, and service we were accustomed to. Our guests were graciously welcomed by the two lead waitresses that were assigned to our room. We were also personally introduced to each of them and assured anything we needed during our big night would be taken care of. Our wedding dinner went off with out a hitch and we deeply enjoyed our time there. I would suggest Charlies to anyone looking for an intimate dinner setting and seeking stellar food and service. As discussed, where Charlies failed was the lead up and the hospitable approach to helping their clients plan events at their site. I am happy to have had such a great day of experience, but can still only remember the stress and aggravation on the weeks leading up to it. Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5
