This place is fantastic! I always order the oyster plate and am never disappointed. Anytime I stay in Lemon Grove, Chef John's is the first place I ask to go to. It's a bit pricey.....until you receive your order. The food is simple but done to perfection and the portions are generous. Love this place. A must go to!!!

I went back yesterday, 7/26/2022 and the food was great. No oily after taste and my meal was excellent. Thumbs up to Chef John's Fish & Chips and I am considering going back again tonight. If not tonight then within the next few days. It is worth going back.

The best Fish & Chips I’ve eaten in America. From northern Australia I grew up with fish & chips from the corner shop...almost every Friday night...fresh caught local stuff. Yum. Chef John’s is equal or better than anything I’ve ever tried and we go back regularly these last 5 years. He changes the frying oil very regularly....almost weekly I think....and that makes a big difference in everything so clean, fresh & crisp. Most important...you get a good size piece of fish every time.....not a chunk of batter with a sliver of something fishy inside. I need to ask what sort of fish he serves.....I don’t feel that it tastes like English Cod....not at all.....it’s large white and flakey...and tasty. They have recently freshened up the inside with some clean renovations, and now have 13 Points Brewery immediately beside them, sharing a large high street sign so you can’t miss either of them. AND.....you can sit at 13 points, order a great beer, walk next door...order your fish & chips.....and they will call you to come and get it once ready.....take it back to the brewery and enjoy dinner. Great service and great compliment to the snacks-only brewery option. 5 Stars every day of the week.
