After a long walk around Banbury Museum, go to this bar and have a rest here. The menu of British cuisine under the direction of the popular chef is great here. Food was very poor, probably the worst dining experience I have ever had. For example, my wife ordered a chicken salad, the chicken was inedible and the salad was just some basic iceberg lettuce with some cucumber and tomatoes and she couldn't eat the lettuce because it was brown! And the salad cost about £11! Also the restaurant was very tired looking and smelled. On the plus side, the service was good, very friendly. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

I come to this pub every Friday afternoon with my children and it’s always friendly staff the manager Hannah is always chatty with us and bar staff Taz and Mal are always joking around and helping entertaining the kids. The food has always been good and service is quick. Staff are happy to change the tv channel so I can watch my cricket and sports that I like. They even split the screens so other customers can watch other sport too. An all round family friendly pub Kid-friendliness: Family friendly pub Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair accessible toilet and plenty of space and tables for wheelchair users. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Garlic Bread, Cumberland Sausages and Mash, Chicken Wings

The Cherwell Banbury is one of the best Stonegate venues I have ever visited. Located in the centre of Banbury just off The High Street it's position is perfect. The bar staff and security are always friendly and polite, the bar tariff is reasonable for a town centre pub and the food is of good quality. The only criticism I have is the lack of entertainment on a weekend, eg local bands, soloist, duo's, trio's, comedians, DJ's etc.
