TLDR: Food was terrible, service was horrible, and we won't be going back! We visited at around 6:00 on a Sunday evening, 3 hours before closing. The outside looked dilapidated, but we chocked it up to the ongoing plaza renovations, and we decided to give it a try. The inside is very old, and not very clean. The pop machine was disgusting, and all of the counters were covered in a thin line of grime. Upon approaching the buffet, there were small portions of nearly every item on the bar. My husband and I took small samplings of a few items, looking for a favorite. Everything was terrible. It all tasted burned and very old. We were hoping it was because it had been in the warmer for a while, so we left our nearly untouched plates at the table and went back to try the fresher food. It was exactly the same. It tasted like old chicken that was cooked at too high of a high temperature in old oil or a dirty pan. Even the lo mein had a spoiled flavor, even though it awas brought out "fresh". Around the room, we were met by the faces of several other guests who were giving their plates looks of disgust. The children in a large party at the table next to us were frankly informing their parents that it was "yucky". I've worked in many, many restaurants, and I RARELY complain about the food (nor does my husband), but we decided to tell the staff that we did not enjoy our meal, and did not eat enough to justify paying $10 per person. They offered us a 25% discount and told us, "since it is your first time here, you just may not be used to our style of cooking". After a somewhat lengthy discussion, we settled on paying for 50% because they said we "took too much food" and they offered us a drink to go and some fortune cookies. So including our son (who had some strawberries and a couple of spoonfuls of broth), we paid $17 for a stomach ache and meal that we didn't eat. All in all, we will not be returning and would NOT recommend.
