Oops, I did it again.  I ordered from Cilantro.  I fell under the spell of "Oh, it's so good" and "the best Mexican food in the city."  No, it's not.  Not even close.   I ordered the elotes  (Mexican street corn).  It was, in fact, delicious, although not grilled at all.  Good thing I ordered it, because the two tacos I ordered were not. Good.   Once again, Cilantro gave me a pile of ingredients covered in pico and salsa (so what if I ordered two different salsas?  They're blended now.)  The tortillas are completely buried.  There is no way to eat this as a taco.  It's a knife and fork affair now.  The meats are mostly unseasoned (pork and barbacoa-- beef.  They taste the same.)  On the left of the photo, you'll note the "sour cream" (white stuff).  It tastes like old ranch dressing with onion.  It is nothing like sour cream, which would be fresh and tangy and creamy.  It's like they decided " hey, it's white like sour cream" and left it at that.  The pico is also unseasoned (no lime juice, very little cilantro, very coarsely chopped, too much onion).  On the menu, it said this was pico with mango.  There was zero mango.  If you want actually good Mexican food, you'll have to go to Villa y Zapata, and a few other west side restaurants/ groceries, or to Painesville in the east.  Treat yourself to good, seasoned, carefully prepared Mexican food.

Fantastic! Closest thing to San Francisco level quesabirria I've had in the Cleveland area. The elote and tacos were really good too :)

Cilantro Taqueria is a Mexican staple in Coventry. Every time I've gone, the service has been incredibly fast, even though they're always busy and bustling. They have a large variety of different meats, dishes, and fillings, and so far everything I've tried has been delicious. I think their pricing is very very reasonable, with most items ranging between $10-$15. They definitely don't skimp on the amount of food they give you, and I can easily make most food last 2 to 3 meals. Ironically, even though they have cilantro and their name, the vast majority of their food items do not contain that horrid herb, if you're like me, and it tastes like soap. I'd also like to highlight their margaritas. You can get a pitcher of margaritas for $26, and having tacos and drinking margaritas on the patio in the summer is absolutely impeccable. While I do sometimes struggle to find seating at cilantro, there still a great place to get food especially if you can do takeout.
