Ordered two large haddock asked when I looked at them, because I thought they were different sizes I asked the lady what size they should be she said a small is supposed to be 6 ounces and a big is supposed to be 9 ounces we live literally just round the corner and when I got them home, I weighed them and they were massively different One definitely well underweight, went back and they were like oh well that’s just how it is pretty poor show guys that is what you would call not in weight and measures. Not even as much an apology. In the last couple of years this place has suddenly gone downhill while getting more expensive. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 2 Service: 1

Visiting Clifton Village Fish Bar was something special. Situated in a prime location on a paved walkway amongst a number of cafés, delis, restaurants and artisan shops, it immediately feels well placed. The shop itself is beautifully designed, with a high ceiling, a large counter, and a number of stools and small tables. Alongside the excellent counter service, there are several easy to use touch ordering screens, which is a great idea when the shop is a little busy. The premises are spotlessly clean and tidy, and we had the pleasure of tasting hoki, also known as blue grenadier, a delicious fish from New Zealand waters that is starting to make a splash here in the UK. The batter was light, crispy and full of flavour, while the chips were exactly what you would expect from a great chippy, thick, cooked to perfection and crisp. There was also a huge and interesting menu to choose from. Overall, a wonderful chippy serving great food in an excellent location.
