I was so excited to have the pancakes because they look amazing! BUT once I got a taste I would say they are just okay. Not bad but not worth making a reservation or standing in line for 2+ hours. They staff is on point!! In spite of the crowd they are friendly, polite and efficient! As for price, I think they are expensive. I asked for regular maple syrup as opposed to the maple butter syrup that comes with the pancakes and it was $2 for a small ramekin. No Beño!!! These were the best pancakes I've ever had in my life so far. So fluffy, perfectly cooked, the warm maple butter definitely takes it up a notch. I also enjoyed the hot chocolate. I can't wait to go back. Service: Dine in Meal type: Brunch Price per person: $30–50 Recommended dishes: Maple Butter, Blueberry

Clinton St. Baking Company, a well-known brunch destination in New York, presents a menu that's decent but may not live up to its considerable hype. During my visit, I tried their Chicken and Waffles and the Brioche French Toast, both of which were good but not exceptional. The Chicken and Waffles ($22) is a classic dish featuring a cage-free chicken breast accompanied by honey-tobasco sauce and a crispy Belgian vanilla buttermilk waffle, all drizzled with their signature warm maple butter. This dish was a solid choice, offering a satisfying blend of sweet and savory flavors, but it didn't quite elevate beyond what you might expect from a good brunch place. The Brioche French Toast ($18) comes with caramelized bananas and roasted pecans, served with warm maple butter. While the toast was competently prepared, it didn't stand out as particularly memorable compared to similar offerings elsewhere. In terms of service, it was adequate but not noteworthy. The staff was efficient, but there wasn't a sense of warmth or exceptional hospitality that might set this establishment apart. One aspect I struggled to reconcile was the pricing. The dishes, while good, didn't seem to justify a premium over other diners in the city. It's clear that the restaurant benefits from strong management and effective marketing, as evidenced by its popularity and frequent bookings. Located at 4 Clinton Street, the ambiance of the restaurant is casual and inviting, making it a suitable choice for a laid-back weekend brunch. The menu also features a variety of other options like the Buttermilk Biscuit Sandwich ($14), Spanish Scramble ($18), and a selection of pancakes ($18), catering to diverse tastes. In conclusion, Clinton St. Baking Company is a decent brunch spot in New York, offering a pleasant but not extraordinary dining experience. While the food is good, the higher prices and considerable hype may set expectations that are not entirely met. Nevertheless, it remains a solid option for those in the area seeking a casual brunch meal -- who also happen to make a reservation there a week in advance.
