Sunday funday decided to check out a vegetarian /vegan place in Fort Lauderdale since I haven't gone that ways in a while. Found several options but when I found Clovermint Café and especially their Avocado Fries, I immediately got dressed and drove almost 40 minutes just for that and their Tofu Scramble. The first thing I was dying to order- Avocado Fries- we're removed from the menu- :(!! Super BUMMER! Well ordered the Tofu scramble, coffee and a pumpkin & cheese pastry. I am convinced the food was made to order because it did take a while.. maybe 15-20 minutes (or so it seems when we are waiting.. lol) But let me say, I was more than impressed with the Tofu Scramble- first off: gigantic portion! Can easily be shared between 2.... second: the flavors and texture were fantastic! I was very well full before I stopped eating it, and even then, I still had left overs! It included cherry tomatoes, home fries, kale, and was offered buffalo spicy sauce which I of course slathered on because I enjoy spice! It was great on its own, spice took it up a notch. Ordered the Pumpkin & Cheese Pastry and a Chocolate Chip cookie because YES! They were both fantastic:) The truth is that it's difficult to choose just one option because they have several amazing dishes that I look forward to try out next time. Great food, super friendly and helpful staff!
This was a very cute vegan spot food was delicious (shrimp po boy ) a must . Everything we ate was very flavorful staff was very friendly very cozy spot
3/4/16- You do not have to be vegan to enjoy Clovermint Café & Market. I do however, enjoy eating a healthy meal. You may also think Vegan means tasteless, well NOT here. This is the tastiest vegan food I've had so far. Keep in mind that they are still going through their soft opening and their hours may vary. Luckily, we came here on Friday and they were open. The space has an eclectic style vibe of antique furnishings, Moroccan style and modern vintage pieces. It is very clean with white walls. On the walls, there are many antique looking pictures. The furniture was refined, a patterned sofa and wine-color velvet chairs around the restaurant. There were also some burnished bronze furniture pieces to tie it all up. What I liked the most were the bunny salt & pepper shakers on the table. (As a woman, I can appreciate a good bathroom, You have to see this bathroom, they thought about everything) With that said, I must add that our service is BLAH! The server did not introduce himself and I felt like he thought we had been to the cafe before and knew what we wanted. He just didn't seem excited. He brought us waters and took a very long time to come back. Once we looked through their one page menu, we knew what we wanted to order the AVOCADO FRIES, Coconut and almond encrusted avocado slices pan fried golden in coconut oil and served with garlic aioli dipping sauce. We also ordered the BUFFALO CAULIFLOWER PLATTER, House made creamy buffalo sauce tossed over cauliflower florets. Served with avocado toast points and veggies and Caesar dressing and the BAKED ZITI, Brown rice ziti tossed in our homemade ricotta and baked with our family recipe marinara sauce. They take longer than your usual place since they are making everything fresh. The Avocado Fries came out and they were warm and so flavorful. They were not as encrusted as I've seen in other pictures but every order is different. The Buffalo Cauliflower was to die for, and I am NOT a fan of buffalo/wing sauce. It had the perfect kick! Absolutely addicting and filling. It comes with a side of the most colorful veggies we've ever seen! My Baked Ziti came with a side of mixed greens and orange basil dressing, it was light and fresh. In the words of Savanna M. "Best BAKED ZITI". The homemade ricotta was delicious but that marinara sauce was just sweet enough. So far, so delicious, that we had to order dessert. APPLE STREUSEL, Cinnamon spiced apple pie filling baked in a buttery, gluten free, house made crust. Topped with crumble and cashew cream drizzle. This came out hot, flaky and that cashew cream drizzle...MMMM. I just have to say that the entire time we were there and took a bite we kept looking at each other like "This cannot be vegan, it is TOO GOOD!"
