Lovely little cottage, right in the middle of town. Small but cozy. Clean and comfortable. Kitchen equipped with cooker, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine/dryer. For us essential as two of the group had been walking the Pennine Way, so clean, dry clothes were a god send. Upstairs is a double bedroom and the bathroom. The bed was comfortable and warm and even though it overlooks the main street, traffic ceases by 10 pm so quiet. The bathroom was fantastic. Shower, double sink, toilet and the bath. What can I say about the bath? A lovely deep, rolltop bath. Another god send for the walkers to relax their aching muscles. Plenty of hot water was available. The next floor is accessed by a very steep staircase. The room is built into the attic and contains two single beds. The two walkers had no complaints about the beds, telling me they were comfortable and it was quiet in the room. The cottage is very close to all the amenities in Hawes, with parking spaces in front, if you're lucky enough to grab one, otherwise, there is a carpark within easy reach, but you will have to pay to park there. The staff in Cocketts hotel, next door were you collect your key, were pleasent and friendly, though as we didn't need them, we had very little contact with them. All in all a very pleasant long weekend and I wouldn't hesitate to book this cottage again. Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5
