Visitors enjoy the sights of Pacific Tsunami Museum and book a table for nice dishes here. Tasty potato salads, ceviche and kimchi can make a deep impression on you. This restaurant provides good French toasts, buckwheat pancakes and flapjack. Delicious tonic is worth trying here. You will be offered great tea, almond coffee or smoothies.

At Conscious Culture Cafe, you can order food as a takeaway. The nice staff works hard, stays positive and makes this place wonderful. Cool service is something that guests note in their reviews. Prices are attractive for the quality you get. The divine decor and cozy atmosphere let clients feel relaxed here. But this place hasn't gained a high Zomato rating that displays that this spot has something to improve.

Great selection of fresh home brewed Kombucha on tap. Love that you're able to sample flavors before trying. Ended up with the pint of Lavender Elderberry and thought it was light yet flavorful, just the perfect hint of the two flavors blended together. Not really understanding the whole kimchi shot but otherwise the menu had a nice selection of fresh and healthy options. Service was friendly, price was comparable to other health food/Kombucha cafes I've visited. Would definitely come back!
We took a little day trip out to Akaka Falls State Park. The falls are stunning with a 442 foot drop to the pool below. After a beautiful hike through lush vegetation we prepared to head out. The price of admiring nature means not paying attention to the time. It was close to dinnertime and we were 11 miles north of Hilo. Travelling with the daughter, we are fortunate to find dining options we might overlook otherwise. She found Conscious Culture Cafe in Hilo and this turned out to be a wonderful option. Their website sums up their philosophy, "Living food for living folks." Their local and organic ingredients produce delicious menu choices. We ordered the Conscious Catch Tacos, Roasted Veggie Tacos, Conscious Catch Sandwich, and Ceviche Plate. The conscious catch tacos included two corn tortillas stuffed with grilled locally caught fish, organic greens and sprouts with wasabi miso dressing. The tacos were paired with brown rice, black beans, and fresh tomato salsa. A really tasty dish. The roasted veggie tacos also included two corn tortillas filled with roasted veggie goodness made up of mushrooms, zucchini, sweet onions, bell peppers, carrots and sprouts served with brown rice, black beans, and fresh tomato salsa. The vegetarian daughter loved this very good dish. The conscious catch sandwich came with grilled locally caught fish on a toasted taro roll accented with organic greens, tomatoes, sprouts, and wasabi miso dressing. A very good sandwich. Finally, the ceviche plate was made up of wild caught fresh Mahi Mahi coconut lime ceviche served over greens with black beans, quinoa, and tomato salsa. Overall, this was a very flavorful and fresh dining experience. After our excursion to the falls it was great to find such a refreshing option for dinner on our way back through Hilo. Conscious Culture Cafe really lives up to its motto of living food for living folks.
I was soo sad we missed breakfast hour because I was revving to try Kela's Breakfast plate, but the salads we ordered in lieu more than made up for it! Extremely hippie, trendy spot with the most interesting homemade Kombucha and Jun flavors. The employees here are so sweet and chill. I ordered the Nicoise Salad (grilled ahi, not blackened) with a wasabi miso vinegraitte. Sooo delicious! Friend ate most of the olives and yellow sweet potato that I'm not too fond of, but the fresh greens were so soft, cherry tomatoes were on point, as were the pickled/slightly fermented/spicy green beans. Fish was fresh and warm, slightly underseasoned but the vinegraitte more than made up for it. Friend got the Casablanca Salad, per recommendation by staff as one of their most popular dishes. It was sooo amazing! The garbanzo and macnut hummus was garlicky and so yummy with the organic blue tortilla chips and butter toasted sourdough crostini (by the way, I don't think they used sourdough..it was a wheat bread instead). The portions were large and prices are decent for a touristy area in Hilo. I would definitely come back again!
