As of Spring 2020–>Nov 2020, it appears Covenant Crab Co. is closed, 5 Stars otherwise. Phones out. Drove by their place to check and inside is in shambles/closed.Too bad , it was a great place to get Blue Crabs and staff was nice. Covenant use to provide their Blue Crabs to Cowboy Crab, FYI.

WARNING: Do not buy seafood from Covenant Crab Co. We purchased a half dozen of blue crabs yesterday. An hour later, we went to steam them, and they were all dead. We left them a message and came back today with them. They refused to refund or replace them and was extremely rude about it. They claimed dead crabs are fine to eat. Are you kidding me??? When a crab dies, they waste no time degenerating their body. A dead crab will immediately release toxins into all parts of the crab to start the decaying process. Not only are the toxins released into the one dead crab if the crab is in a tank with other crabs those toxins will kill the other crabs as well if the dead crab is not immediately removed. When you eat a toxic crab (dead crab) you are eating spoiled meat infected with these toxins. Nine times out of ten you will become very sick with an illness commonly known as food poisoning or seafood poisoning.

They say they are a Christian based company. When they put dollars ahead of their customers health and wellbeing…. Is that a Christian thing to do? I don’t think so. We will be calling the Board of Health and the Better Business Bureau, but in the meantime, please protect yourself and your family and don’t buy anything from this place, as their seafood really is not fresh.
