Craft is great, I just wish the portions were a little bit bigger, they're pretty darn meager, even for high end restaurants.
Simplistic venue, hypnotizing menu options, and elegance is everywhere at Craft. This a sheer must for a lovely night.
I happened to be in town and a girlfriend suggested Craft for dinner as this was the last week for Dine LA. I'm always excited to try new places and couldn't wait. When I know I'm going to a new place I immediately look up the restaurant on yelp, so I know what I'm getting myself into. I didn't get the chance to do it this time around but happy I didn't because it made the experience all the more special. Everything was seasoned and prepared perfectly. The courses came out in a timely manner and I was so full by the end of the evening. Our reservations were at 8:30 pm and we didn't leave till 11:00 pm. Our server Jesse was amazing and we didn't feel rushed or like we were inconveniencing him in anyway. Thanks Jesse! It may have been the company, which is always amazing when I'm in town or the food, but I had such a wonderful time and enjoyed all the delicious food they prepared. I would definitely come back and hope to. We shared the following: Roasted Octopus - Seasoned perfectly with the right amount of char. Cherry Tomato - Each bite was delicate and tasty. Laughing Bird Shrimp - The crisp veggies paired with the shrimp, chick peas and dill gave it so much flavor. It may be a little too overpowering depending on your taste buds. Petrale Sole - This is where the money is! crispy on the outside moist and tender on the inside. Quail - Tinder pieces of quail with a great sauce. Torchio - The burrata was amazing... I'm reminiscing of all the flavors in this dish. But don't forget about the pasta as well... truly one of my favorite dishes of the night. Chocolate Panna Cotta - Wasn't one of my favorites and I love chocolate, I mean don't get me wrong, I wouldn't say no if they gave me some to go. Einkorn Pound Cake - Dense but not heavy and not overly sweet Ice Cream Sorbet - We had the vanilla and peach, one of my friends thought it was strawberry and we asked our server Jesse which flavor it was. He brought out the strawberry for us to try, which was amazing but I prefer the peach.
